OLYMPIC CANOEING TEAMS DECIDED

In the four years since the Athens Games, Canoeing has fielded both highs and lows. Highlights such as Robin Bells World Championship win at the Penrith Course in 2005 were certainly worth noting, but equally important was noting the disgrace of multiple Sprint World Champion Nathan Baggley in the last couple of years.

While 2004 were touted as the most successful games ever for slalom by the current administration, the silver medal won by Slalom Kayaker Danielle Woodward in the Barcelona games in 1992, has yet to be equalled. Is 2008 the year that Australia grabs another Olympic medal? And will it be Gold?

NATIONAL DRAGON BOAT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dragon Boating is the worlds fastest growing paddlesport, with over sixty countries now competing, and millions of participants. In Australia, Dragon boating is being taken up by many ex-athletes, who come from all forms of competitive paddling, as well as many other people from almost any background. This competitive sport is one that is also social, and teams can simply get together to train, or travel to Sate and National events, or even further afield to complete internationally.....

URBAN PADDLING AT ITS BEST

One of the greatest advantages of living in a city with so much concrete is that when it rains, huge amounts of water are channelled into stormwater drains and into creeks such as ‘Gardiners’. This deluge of water brings a small paddling window, so you need to be ready to go at a moments notice.
